Tradeshow Booth Mockup
Project Objective:
Twice a year VSP has a large presence at two major industry tradeshows: Vision Expo West and East. Working with a tradeshow vendor, they provide general mockups of the booth. Given the hectic pace of decisions and changes leading up to the event, we have to reskin their mockups multiple times and re-render them. |
Project Solution:
Creating a master Photoshop file, the first pass is to isolate the artwork layers and mask them from foreground elements. The new artwork is placed into the PSD file, sized, masked, skewed, and parallax corrected. It is submitted for line-of-business and council review. Considerations are made, and changes are resubmitted. |
Sacramento Kings Arena Takeover
Project Objective:
As part of being a corporate sponsor for the Sacramento Kings, we have the opportunity to "takeover" the arena for an entire game. We are asked to design two different sized ribbons, a Jumbotron banner, and floor signs. They are all animated and displayed on screens. |
Project Solution:
For this takeover, a new trademarked tag was being implemented: LIFE IS BETTER IN FOCUS. Since we are a vision company, striking fall colors and visuals were used to help the message stand out from others. Once the design was locked, it then had to be placed in After Effects, stitched together, animated, and rendered per the Arena's specs. |
Now Hiring Highway Billboard
Project Objective:
Our Ohio-based optical lab asked me to design a roadside billboard sign. Their original request was very copy heavy (long headline, two lines of copy, tagline, and website) and had a fashion model for the image. But they wanted it to stand out and engage people. |
Project Solution:
After a collaborative meeting, we successfully convinced the business partner to shift their initial design direction to our proposed solution. Knowing that this was alongside a freeway and cars would be traveling at 65+ MPH, a simple and impactful billboard design was needed, focusing on key messaging. We dropped the fashion model and focused more on the actual job: Making eyeglasses. Hearing that we didn't have the budget to extend the glasses beyond the sides of the billboard, we made a decision to "mock it" as a comprise. |
